Supervision Program

So you would like to become a registered psychologist - sport or otherwise?

Before reading on make sure that you are either a provisionally registered psychologist (intern) or eligible to apply to the NSW Psychologists Registration Board to become one. See www.psychreg.health.nsw.gov.au for more information about how to get conditional / provisional registration.

If you are and are accepted onto our program then from us you'll get 60 hours of individual supervision provided by one of our Accredited Supervisors as well as 40 hours of group supervision and 60 hours of training and / or workshops. From you we'll need you to be able to collect 20 hours per week of psychology work experience over two years. See below for why.

At Condor Performance we believe that supervision is a better option than a Masters degree in almost every regards and that's why we offer it (as well as due to demand as there is actually no sport psychology masters programs currently being offered in universities in New South Wales). Both our specialist sport psychology supervision program (4SP) and our positive psychology supervision program (2PSP) work in the same way with all successful applicants starting their supervision with us in the grey phase.

  • Grey (first) phase:
1 x 60 min fortnightly supervision session @ cost of $120 + GST payable in advance.
No assistance with finding 20 hours / week of relevant psychology work experience.

  • Black (second) phase:
1 x 60 min fortnightly supervision session @ reduced cost of $100 + GST payable in advance.
Assistance with finding 10 hours / week (half of what is required) of sport psychology work experience

  • Red (third and final) phase:
1 x 90 min fortnightly supervision session @ no cost to the intern.
Assistance with finding 10 hours / week (half of what is required) of sport psychology work experience
An opportunity to join the Condor Performance team once you're fully registered.

Please note there is no guarantee that successful applicants will move beyond the grey phase during their 2 year supervision program. The reason for this is because we try to give as many interns an opportunity as possible. Therefore some require much, much more training and attention before being ready to represent the Condor Performance brand than others. It's worth noting that even if an intern were to remain in the grey stage for the whole 24 months (very unlikely) that the total cost would still be about one quarter of a Master program at university.
